These are files of cases handled by the Attorney General's office for the Dept. of Examiners of Public Accounts, 1935-1939, 1942-1946. They involve cases where the on-site examiner has discovered that funds had not been used properly or had not been lawfully accounted for. Materials in the files include correspondence, copies of any legal documents filed in court, and the disposition of the case. Some of these files were created by the predecessor agency, Office of State Comptroller, Division of Departmental and County Audits.
